1. Updated today and now can not access Auto Import setting?????????????

   1. Had to export as a new catalog then it worked.

2. Pressing X in Grid or Loupe Mode does not work any more on all macs I tested (sierra, french install)
   Wonderful. Like every time untested. Unbelievable.

   1. Considering the camera doesn’t even write DNGs yet, I wouldn’t hold your breath?

      The Quattro H will allegedly launch with DNG support – and if they follow the standards correctly I would imagine it will ‘just work’ in most DNG tools, but I guess we will see

4. My catalog reports as 2.8GB on Mac El Capitan – but I get an error message that it’s greater than 4GB from LR when I try to back it up. I did continue and it proceeded to complete the backup – resulting in a file of about 358MB – very similar in size to the 2015.7 version compressed backups.

   So is the ‘IF’ statement wrong or are you reporting anything roughly larger than 2+ GB as requiring a separate unzip. I did run the MAC OS X un-zip on it and it did it – restoring the .lrcat to 2.8 GB – but I did NOT test the catalog thinking ‘let sleeping dogs lie’.

7. I have Photoshop Elements 14 and I’ve bought the new Canon M5 mirrorless camera. The ACR version in PSE is 9.5.0. I can’t open my new M5 RAW files in PSE 14; apparently new ACR version 9.8 provides support for the new M5. I haven’t found any instructions for how to update ACR 9.5.0 in PSE 14 to ACR 9.8. The instructions I’m finding only cover updating to 9.8 in CS and CC. When I go thru the normal update procedure for PSE (Help>Updates), it says my applications are all up to date. How can I get my PSE 14 updated to ACR 9.8 so I can edit my new Canon M5 RAW files?

   1. Camera Raw 9.8 requires Photoshop Elements 15 or later.

      You will need to download Adobe’s free DNG converter to convert your Canon M5 raw files from .cr2 to DNG so that your older version of software can read them.

         1. The Free DNG Converter method is available for users who do not wish to upgrade.

8. Cant seem to open any DNG’s, seems buggy, all i get on the camera raw console is a blue screen with a plain yellow image. Is this happening with anyone else? images where taken with a pentax k 5 II..

I have a new canon t6, you name it, I’ve done it, help-update, adobe camera raw download, downloaded the adobe DN converter, and I go into the folder to get the .cr2 file and it’s empty, changed all the preferences and still empty. But I look in my file fold and see the files. I ‘am lost, help please, Photoshop’s, E 13 & 14, Thanks!

    1. With Photoshop Elements 14, the latest compatible Camera Raw version is 9.5. Support for the Canon T6 was added in version 9.5. If your Camera Raw version is up-to-date in Elements 14, you shouldn’t need to use the DNG converter. 16. For me later update 9.5 works, but with 9.8 i can download the zip file but when i try to unzip it says file is empty or something. No matter where i try to download. What’s the problem..

    1. Go to Help>System Info… and get us your exact Lightroom version number please.

19. impossible to download interrupted in the midle of the server . try 3 machine all got failed . Disable window defender and firewall but no luck

21. Hi there… I’ve been trying to download the latest version 9.8 but cannot get more than 20% downloaded. I can download 9_5_1 and 9_7 but can’t download 9.1.1 and 9.8? I’m at a loss as I now cannot open any of my files of my Nikon D750 and I’m running Photoshop CS6 ver 13.0 x64
    Neither 9_5_7 & 9.1.1 work as I’m always prompted to update ACR

       1. downloaded today unzipping trows and error, but show the pkg file (CameraRaw_9_8.pkg) when trying to open I get:

          The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.)

Have tried to install again and look for updates, but says fully updated. Anyone have any idea what is going on or what steps to take to get RAW and PS actually up to correct update? Seems stuck on 9.1…..

    i guess many people are waiting for LR7.

    other raw converter are much better in noise reduction and demosaicing.
    the LR engine is now what… 5 years old?
    it´s noticeable. adobe dropped the ball.

    multiprocessing in LR sucks. my cores are barely 80% occupied.
    LR wastes performance on multicore systems.

    when i look at neural networks and what is possible with image recognition today i can only laugh about adobes facial recognition. even 30 euro shareware programs do it better.

    location tagging? freeware offers better options than the LR map module.
    and it´s not improved since it´s introduction. 🙁

    really LR6 is going long in the tooth.

    all adobe does is making more mobile stuff and feature for selfie shooter.
    no wonder professionals switch to other solutions.

29. I’m trying unsuccessfully to download ACR9.8 into CS6 for my new M5 camera. PS>Help>Updates gives “Update server not responding”. I have internet connection. Is firewall a problem?

    1. ACR 9.1.1 is the last version compatible with Photoshop CS6. You need the Creative Cloud version of Photoshop in order to use Adobe Camera Raw 9.8

30. I have photoshop cs5 and had to reinstall it due to replacing my hard drive now I am having issues and was told so sorry to bad must buy a plan for 9.99 . that they would not even look into the code problem that I had the program for 6 years and they will not support it now

33. I’m running Lightroom 5.7. Help shows Camera Raw is at 8.7. I need 9.8 to support Nikon D5600 images, so tried to search for updates. LR says no updates available. I downloaded the 9.8 version of the DNG converted but it didn’t integrate with LR. Suggestions?

    1. Lightroom 5.7.1 is the last version of Lightroom 5. It cannot upgrade beyond Camera Raw 8.7.1.

       To read these files you need to:

       1. Upgrade Lightroom to 6.x
       or
       2. Subscribe to the Creative Cloud Photographer’s program
       or
       3. Use the free DNG converter from Adobe to convert your NEF Files to DNG so that your older versions of your Adobe software can read the files.

    when we can expect the fix ?

    1. The auto-updated driver via Windows 10 can be several versions older than the nVidia driver obtained by direct download from nVidia’s site or via the nVidia app. Make certain you are using the latest version as told by nVidia-not Microsoft.

38. Please help. Cannot get raw images from sonya99 ii top open up in lightroom 5.7.1. I’ve downloaded and installed the DNG converter 9._10.dmg, the Camera Raw_9_10.pkg and the Camera Raw_9_11.pkg. Still not working. I have a time crunch matter and need these images as soon as possible for a client. Thank you in advance for your assistance 🙂 I am a member of the creative cloud photography program. If that helps. Any instructions you can send would be much appreciated.

    1. Lightroom does not use the Camera Raw plugin.

       If you are a Creative Cloud member, use the Creative Cloud App to install CC2015.10 (Current Version) The Sony A99II was supported as of CC2015.8

    I am a 69 year old male living in Western Australia.(recently retied) Have dabbled with PS Elements 11 & Now upgraded & purchased from ebay UK copy on CS6 version 13.0.1 extended. I also have a Nikon D5600 camera and want to open NEF files in Bridge & CS6 which I can’t do. Have down loaded the Camera Raw plug in 9.12.1 & Installer 9.1.1. still cant open my NEF files. I am not a Techno Nerd so stay off the internet (Scammers) I don’t want to do the Cloud thing as I can’t afford the internet costs in Australia and our internet is slow compared to
    other countries. I have read mast of the stuff regarding Camera Raw and I don’t want to be forced to keep converting my good files to DNG, Just want to open & process in Bridge Open & process in Camera Raw & do any final processing in CS6, is that too much to ask for ? I’m old and don’t have time left. Please help?

    1. Camera Raw 9.1.1 is the last version compatible with CS6.

       To use your new camera with your old software, you would need to use Adobe’s free DNG converter to convert your later model Nikon NEF files to DNG which CS6 can read no problem. Unfortunately there is no other option for CS6.

I could use Nikon Capture N-XD to process NEF files, but if I want to do some other work I need CS6 and I wont to lean Bridge. What version of CS6 and camera raw will open NEF files? (Frustrated Old Guy) will the latest software CS6 open NEF files if so what do I need to do?. Can I get an upgrade ed CS6 or something that doesn’t cost much?
