What about Lightroom update to 6.6.1? Will it be available in the near future?
I need a update for Lightroom 5.7.1 as its not working with my new camera I don’t use photo shop thats my reason for asking.
5.7.1 will not be updated. You need to either upgrade to 6.x, subscribe to the Creative Cloud or use the free DNG Converter from Adobe to convert your CR2 files into DNGS that can be read by older versions of the software.
My Creative Cloud says my Lightroom and Camera Raw are up-to-date. I have a Canon G5 X, and LR can’t read any of my .CR2 files.I updated the DNG converter for Mac, and it still isn’t working.
Go to Help>System Info and tell us what the Lightroom version listed there is. You must be using at least CC2015.3 or later.
The DNG converter and Lightroom do not share code so updating it won’t help Lightroom.
What about latest Phase One XF 100MP?
Any chance to open it’s files?
What about Lightroom 6? Will I get the Camera RAW update?
The Lightroom update will be along soon.
will that update fix the printing bug?

What about the Bug Fixed in Camera Raw 9.6.1, the uncompressed DNGs files converted from Fuji X-E2 RAF, when converted from the LR? The bug was fixed only in the PS? How can I fix it in LR?
The fix will be coming soon for Lightroom. For right now, you would continue to use CC2015.5.1 to access those files.
when will adobe provide offline installer for CC 2015.5?
it´s unbelievable what adobe is doing.
some of us have more than one systems and installing via the cloud is a PITA.
CC updater is still not offering me PS 2015.6 update on two different systems running OS X 10.10.5
But is offering me Bridge and Camera RAW 9.6.1
Will CR v 9.6.1 compatibility be added to PSE 14 anytime soon?
How can I open multiple images in Photoshop using the new Camera RAW?
There used to be the option to Cntrl+Select multiple images then open, or to select all images and open them all at once in Photoshop. Since updating to Adobe Camera RAW 9.6.1 I only seem able to open 1 image at a time, meaning I have to wait for each to individually load before opening the next.
How can I batch import files into Photoshop?
If I purchase a new standalone version of Lightroom 6 on disc (not CC) will I be able to download 9.6.1 raw converter?
No. The ACR converter is not available to a Lightroom only license. Lightroom does not need (nor use) the Adobe Camera Raw plugin. It is only available to a valid Photoshop subscription – either through the PS Single App, the Creative Suite, or the Creative Cloud Photographer’s program.
Why is the temperature setting on a 0-100 scale now? I want my Kelvin degrees back!
When you are editing a raw file, the scale should be in °Kelvin when you first open the file and ACR pops up to give you initial edit opportunity. If you open a raw file and then attempt to use the Filter>Camera Raw Filter after opening – you will get a 0-100 scale. To give yourself the ability to go back to edit White Balance on a °Kelvin scale, you must File>Open As Smart Object… when you bring the raw file into Photoshop initially.
Note: If you open ACR as a filter with a JPG/Tiff/PSD, the White Balance sliders should be disabled.
I’ve installed Camera Raw 9.6 But my PS CS6 still shows that it’s using Camera Raw 7.1.
Adobe updater says everything is up to date.
I want to open Sony RX10 III .ARW filed. In PS CS6.
How can I get PS CS6 to use Camera Raw 9.6. I’ve installed 9.6 The end prompt said it was installed on my computer?
Photoshop CS6 cannot use any version of ACR after 9.1.1 You need Photoshop CC to use ACR9.6. This document lists various Photoshop versions and the last compatible version of ACR for each: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
To access your RX10III files in CS6, you would need to first convert them to DNG using Adobe’s free DNG Converter to make the ARW into a DNG that older versions of Adobe software can read.
I truly hate how adobe has left things for users. It’s great for everyone who can afford monthly subscriptions and if you have fast internet. Oh but wait, if I quit your service I have nothing to show for my money. Nadda. I’ve already paid for LR 5 and CS6 as I’m sure other users have, why would I want to pay a monthly subscription? I’d rather pay a small update fee. It’s honestly BS. I’m really starting to not like you adobe. Games are doing this to too. Buy a game and then you have a huge download update, at least games do it for free. So, let me get this straight… I have to pay a monthly subscription to your service, pay for fast internet so I can even download the damn program, be annoyed if I have to reinstall for any reason, download again. blah blah blah. Way to go Adobe. This makes me want to just stop being creative altogether. Isn’t that the exact opposite of what you are going for?
I am really suffering problem with Lightroom cc update 2015 6.1 & Camera Raw 9.6.1 which came June or July update from adobe. I use my GPU just for editing photos which is Nvidia Gtx 950, well my system is working great without any problem with the GPU but only the lightroom & camera raw freezing images ( NEF or TIFF) whenever I am going to develop. I tried all the stuffs like uninstalling both PS & Lightroom , reinstalling, reinstalling graphics driver etc. In the PS , there is no problem but only problem happening in Camera Raw & Lightroom. If I uncheck the option “use graphics processor” on both application everything working fine but a bit slow. My question is why this is happening? I had Gtx 630 previously which was lower end GPU everything was working good. So why the hell I upgraded my gpu ? for better rendering obviously. I figured out My GPU is working fine enough (tested) but there is a bug in these package of software. My notebook also runs on gtx 950m & there is no glitch or bug, the same software package installed like desktop. I dont want to downgrade my Camera raw, because I saw system information on Camera raw & Lightroom. Both of them says everything is passed like open gl 4.4 etc. Then where is the glitch? Why this is happening only on desktop gpu not the notebook? I also read the adobe forum & there are thousands of people facing the same problem with GPU option. Can adobe provide a strong package like no glitch or bug?
salve,
Grazie Iris
What’s taking so long for Elements 14 to get the 9.6.1 update?
Greetings Dick,
A Camera Raw 9.6.1 update for Photoshop Elements is coming with the next upgrade. Until then you can use the free Adobe DNG Converter to change your camera raw files to DNGs which your version of Photoshop Elements can read.
Hi, Can we expect ACR 9.6.1 update for CS6?. When?
CS6 will receive no further updates with regards to Adobe Camera Raw. You would need to use the free Adobe DNG converter to make your files readable for your older version of the software.
I have Photoshop Elements 14 with Adobe Raw Converter 9.5… I just purchased a Fujifilm X-T2 camera. Photoshop Elements14 doesn’t recognize the raw files I tried to download to Photoshop Elements 14. When will adobe update the raw converter to PSE 14?
Hi, I purchased the 5DIV last week and I can’t open my RAW files. When do you think adobe will fix it? Its almost been 2 weeks that the camera is on sale.
Very soon. Stay tuned.
I have updated to latest version of Lightroom (6.6.1)
Can you please provide link for Camera Raw 9.6.1 for customers on stand alone LR 6?
Thank you.
Lightroom does not use Camera Raw. The latest version of Lightroom is 6.7 and you can find links to update here if you are unable to update via the Lightroom App’s Help section: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/06/keeping-lightroom-up-to-date.html
Hello,
If I use lightroom 6.7 and choose “edit in” PS CS6 -> will it create a tiff so I can do the edit or will it just not work?
The file type you get will depend upon the External Editor settings in Lightroom Preferences. You can specify a Tiff file if you like and it should work just fine.
Purchased Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 from amazon. Installed on my computer and it will not load my raw files from Fuji XT2. Upon import, it saying “Files not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom”. Why might this be. I understand there is a cloud update, but I am not in the cloud.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Jon
Reviewing this document: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html you will see that it requires Adobe Camera Raw version 9.6 to read a Fuji X-T2 camera raw file. In this blog post, it announced that Camera Raw 9.1.1 is the last compatible version for Adobe Photoshop CS6. http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/05/adobe-camera-raw-8-support-for-photoshop-cc-and-photoshop-cs6.html
In order to read these files natively in Photoshop, you must either:
1. Upgrade to the Creative Cloud version of Photoshop
or
2. Use Adobe’s free DNG Converter to convert your Fuji raw file into a DNG that is backwards compatible with older versions of Adobe software.
What about LR?
The current 6.x or CC2015.x version would be updatable and work to read the files and port them to Photoshop.
I am running Lightroom 6.7 (standalone) and I am not able to find a way to add lens profiles to Lightroom. I am sure that the Nikon lens I want to add is in your database because the lens were release in 2002. In addition I also use Tokina lens and I am not able to download their profiles either.
Please provide me with instructions on where to fine this plugin and how to install it. My Lightroom 6.7 profile is below.

Hello. I have Adobe Lightroom 5.7.1 and canot read ARW files. How can I fix that? Thanks
From which camera?
I bought Lightroom 6.. cannot open raw files from new camera. Olympus OMD EM1 MKII. Will support be available soon? an update
Support is already available. The EM1 MKII support was added in 6.8. Go to Help>System Info… and check to see what version you have installed and then go to Help>Updates… to update to the current version.
This version is very often useless for xt2. very clear watercolour – not even at 100%
Hi Rikk,
I have the same problem as many here. I purchased 5Div and my lightroom 6 wont recognize the raw files.
Could you please please direct me step by step what to do?
I have imac computer.
I will realy appreciate it.
I am desperate.
Go to Help>System Info… and verify your version is older than 6.7. If it is…
Go to Help>Updates… and see if Lightroom automatically finds and guides you through an install to 6.7 or later.
If that fails, follow the steps here and download the 6.8 patch directly and install it: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/06/keeping-lightroom-up-to-date.html
Once you have 6.7 or later installed importing images from a Canon 5DMKIV should work like any other file.
Hi Rikk,
I just purchased a Fujifilm x-T2 and am having the same issues with RAW files being unrecognizable. I have LR 5.7 and just downloaded Camera Raw 9.6.1. Under Preference> File Handling > Compatibility, it says Camera Raw 7.1 or older. Not sure how to change that. Thanks in advance.
If you have 5.7, you will need to upgrade your Lightroom to 6.x or CC2015.x. Lightroom 5.7 is not compatible with Camera Raw 9.6.1. In any case, Lightroom doesn’t utilize the Camera Raw updates as Camera Raw is integrated into Lightroom’s develop engine – not a separate plugin like in Photoshop.
Alternately, you can use the free DNG Converter to convert your Fuji’s raw files into a DNG file that older versions of Adobe’s software can read.
Hi Rick,
I know you’ve answered this question in a number of ways but to be clear.
I have LR 5.7 standalone, I recently purchased an X-T2.
My question is simple and I just need a Yes or No.. If I upgrade to LR6.x standalone will it be compatible with the X-T2 .RAF files?
The DNG conversion process is too many steps.
Many thanks
Stuart
Yes.
As long as you’ve installed 6.6 or later.
Thanks Rikk!
Help!
I have MAC OSX 10.7.5 and use Photoshop CS6. The Camera Raw plugin in CS6 is no longer compatible with my new D750 camera. It says I need version camera raw plugin 8.7 minimum, which will work with my OSX 10.7.5. I found an old download link for the plugin 8.7, but when I go to install it, it says the Certificate has Expired and may not be authentic. Will it still install and work properly?
Thank you
Just updated LR, PS, AE, PR, MU. Now when in Lightroom I select merge to HDR I get a dialog that I need to update to camera raw 9.1? Why is that happening? I cannot update ACR in my CC panel. I uninstalled the entire Adobe suite and still not working. Same problem on my laptop. Gotta fix that guys, I make my living off HDR. Seems like $60/month is a waste if updates are going to keep me from working. I’m going to try a crack version and see what’s what.
Please see this document: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/compatibility-warning-with-edit-in.html
If I get CC of LR6 will it be compatible with RAW file from my new d7500?
At this time an update isn’t ready for the D7500. It should be shortly.
Okay. So any idea how long shortly will be? Weeks, months? Thank you.
My CC just updated LR, PS, and Camera Raw but still no support for the D7500. What sort of legitimate time frame are we looking at Adobe? Shortly really isn’t an answer either…
