What happened to Camera Raw 9.11:

We skipped version 9.11 due to unfortunate events that happened on that day.

Customer reported issues resolved

  • Fixed an issue where images taken with extended ISO on the Fujifilm GFX-50S were too bright.
  • In the Lens Correction panel, we will now display the message “Built-in” in the Make, Model, and Profile popup menus for raw files that contain built-in (automatic, opcode-based) lens corrections. Previously the Lens Correction panel would display “None”.

  1. Hi Caroline,I have a Nikon D750and shoot in raw. This is the second PS programme I have purchased. I am working on macro photography and in my elements12 programme there is no script drop down for photo stacking. Is it possible to update to newer program or is there anything I can add on to give me this feature. Thanks

    1. You need to “open as layers” in photoshop, then do the “auto align” and photo-stack blending there. It’s not built in to lightroom.

      1. If you are doing this regularly then create an Action / Droplet in Photoshop. Also, explore the Droplet functionality in Lr. I create my own Javascripts which allow me integrate Lightroom with Photoshop and/or InDesign to streamline my workflow.

        1. Apologies…. I did not spot the reference to Photoshop Elements. I am not sure of the scripting options in Elements.

  2. So there is lens support for only 2 of Sony’s 3 new lenses.
Where is the profile for the new Sony FE 100-400mm GM which is missing from this update?
Do you have an ETA for when this might be available? The lens has been released.

    1. We are working on it for a future release. Unfortunately we didn’t receive a test unit from the manufacturer in time for ACR 9.12.

    1. If you are referring to the Venus Optics Laowa 7.5mm f2 lens, we were unable to source this lens through our normal channels in time for this release, and it remains unavailable today. It is on the backlog of lenses to profile as soon as we are able to acquire a copy. Hopefully we will be able to produce a profile for the next release.

  3. After updating the camera raw, I am getting a display problem in ACR.
If I have a JPG open in photoshop, and I go to ACR (shift + Ctrl + A) the display color is totally changed. If I open a Raw Directly on ACR the same display problem, and If I just open it, it seems OK in photoshop.
Please help me, I cant use ACR anymore due to this.

  4. Nice to see Panasonic cameras getting colour profiles after all this time. Any chance some of the other recent models will be added (GM1, GM5, GF7/8)? They were cycled pretty quickly and many of us are still using those models.

    1. > and what is this?
this is some old version… ignore it

PS: Adobe can’t manage to maintain their own website in a proper order… for example https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/uptodate.html under “Windows: Camera Raw 9.12” still gives the v9.10 version =
      http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/win/PhotoshopCameraRaw8-8.0/9.10.38/setup.zip
while the proper link to v9.12 =
      http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/win/PhotoshopCameraRaw8-8.0/9.12.89/setup.zip
what a mess ! no wonder they can’t code GPU properly… it is even more difficult than to have a proper CMS 🙂

  5. anyone using Photoshop elements V11 with a canon eos80D? I have downloaded the latest version of camera raw plug in but the raw files from Eod80D are still not visible in elements 11.

  6. Just got a hold of my new 6D Mark II today. Files cant be read in my Lightroom (6.3)
Tried installing this 9.12 which says support for 6D Mark II but no go.
Any way of getting my hands on the 8BI for this latest ACR.

    Cheers
    Nikc

    1. Adobe Camera Raw updates do not affect Lightroom-they only affect Photoshop. You need to update Lightroom to version 6.12 to gain support for the 6D Mark II

  7. I have Elements 13 and just purchased a Canon 6D Mark II. How do I get the 9.12 raw plug-in?

    1. The update is not available for Elements 13. Elements 13 is compatible with versions 8.6 – 9.0 of the ACR plugin. You would need to:

      1. Update your version of Photoshop Elements to the latest version or
      2. Use the free DNG Converter from Adobe to convert your CR2 files from the Canon 6D Mark II to a file that your old version of Elements can read.

  8. While checking update for Photoshop Elements 15, I am unable to bring in 9.12. I purchased a Nikon 7500 on June 5. Still no raw support for that camera.

    1. Photoshop Elements 15 can currently only use Adobe Camera Raw versions 9.10 and older. The 9.12 version of the ACR plugin is not yet compatible with this version of Elements. Until you can install the 9.12 plugin, you can use Adobe’s free DNG Converter to convert your NEF file to a DNG that your older software can read.

      1. I am sure you know what you are talking about Rikk, however I was told just this week by a fellow in your chat group who said he talked to a member of the team working on 9.12 that there would be a 9.12 update for photoshop elements 15 soon. Also unless I am looking in the wrong place for Adobe products, photoshop elements 16 does not exist. In addition I question your statement that one can use the dng converter for raw files generated by a Nikon 7500. I have tried the conversion and members of your chat team have tried the conversion. I am not trying to be a wise guy here. I just think your answers do not agree with other members of the staff at Adobe. Maybe you are right, maybe they are right.

        1. The D7500 was supported as of DNG Converter 9.12 which was released on July 18th, 2017.
Here are the download pages: http://supportdownloads.adobe.com/detail.jsp?ftpID=6175 and http://supportdownloads.adobe.com/detail.jsp?ftpID=6177. You will see that both list the Nikon D7500 as being supported. Using the DNG converter you can convert your NEF into a DNG that your Photoshop Elements version can read.

I have corrected the previous post where I mentioned Elements 16 that was a mistype by me – please review and get back to me with any further questions.

          1. Thanks for your reply. So what I am now understanding is that there will be an update to Photoshop Elements 15 which will activate 9.12. In the meantime use the DNG converter. Is there any advantage to DNG over JPEG? I have always used Raw, so I am not familiar with DNG.

          2. Ok I guess I can be accused of being a nitpicker. I have tried the DNG converter. The original file was 25.9 mg; the converted file is 23.9 mg. Clearly the converted file is not the same file that was captured by the Nikon 7500, so I my question is what was lost, and does it make a difference in the quality of the pix?

  9. Hi,
Will there be an update with profiles for hasselblad XCD lenses?

    Thanks

    Jakub

  10. When are you going to add these to CS6?? Not everyone wants to pay a monthly fees to edit things once every three months or so… I have a new camera and want to use the software I paid for. I don’t want your converter. I shoot in raw for a reason…

  11. after update to Camera raw 9.12 I can not open any *.nef files any more
there are only pics with some colored squares shown is it a serious pitfall of Adobe
How should I finih my fotoworks?

    1. Color squares is symptomatic of an incompatible display driver. Check with your video card manufacturer and verify you are using the latest video drivers.

  12. I download 9.12 yesterday and installed it on my Mac, but .NEF files shot by my D7500 still won’t open in Photoshop CS3 (.NEFs shot with my old D90 did). Is my version of Photoshop too old for 9.12, or is something else amiss?

    1. CS3 cannot use later versions of the ACR Plugin. You will need to use the free DNG converter to convert your NEF files into a DNG that your older software can read.

      1. Bummer — but thanks for the info. Oh, and what’s the oldest version of Photoshop that can use 9.12?

  13. Ok so I have a 6D Mk 2, I also have creative cloud so I updated the Camera Raw and it still won’t open my raw files. When I look at the info for the Camera Raw in PS it says it is Version 9.8.0.692. Any directions on getting this to work?

    1. You will need to update to Adobe Camera Raw version 9.12 in order to support this camera. Use the Creative Cloud App to check for another update to Camera Raw. You may need to sign out and sign back into the CC App in order to see the update.

  14. Purchased PSE15 last week and installed same. ACR is version 9.10. However my camera is Nikon D7500 and PSE15 requires ACR 9.12 to open any images. I bought the new software because Adobe lists the D7500 as being compatible with PSE 15. Why are you selling software that you know is not compatible with the cameras that people are using? Could you send instructions on how to download ACR 9.12?

  15. It has been two days since my last post about the failure of PSE 15’s failure to open files from a D7500. No response yet. I have since installed DNG 9.12.1 but that doesn’t work either. Truly poor customer service and a useless forum but since there is no alternative, I’ll post again.
