  1. where is the download link?
you people think we want to download for each system when we could use one installer?
use brains at adobe for once…. people told you often enough why we want offline installer.

      1. many professionals have 3-6 systems. do you think we want to download 3-6 times when we could use ONE offline installer to update ALL our systems?

you people at adobe are so cloud crazy you don´t get the every day problems this produces for your customers.

in germany we often have slow DSL outside the cities.. it´s like a third world country when it comes to internet bandwith outside the city.

updating all my 6 systems via the online updater cost me hours.

i will check that link you provided …. thanks.

        1. It is really very tiresome to have to update adobe lightroom, photoshop, illustrator, design, dreamweaver, capture one, etc, etc, etc, and even pay for many of these on an almost monthly basis (if it isn’t a monthly subscription). It takes in ordinate amount of time and menus are moved around, functions are changed, added, or dropped altogether. I am about to pay someone to steal the coding from some of these programs and write them into one program for me to use and drop all of these.

          1. Good morning Rick… It is now two days since your reply about taking “an hour or two” for changes to propagate. They still haven’t propagated to my second of two licenses for Lightroom/Photoshop to recognize that LR and Camera Raw need updating. I spent years dealing with problems updating to Creative Suite apps (and prior to that individual app sets of CDs), and much added time on the phone with support while Adobe straightened out internal problems to overcome *known* problems. It would help, frankly, if the company as a policy (and maybe you personally as their paid rep—I’m maybe assuming too much; if so, my apologies) showed some transparency and, frankly as well, some humility by simply acknowledging problems that are not the user’s doing, and apologizing. Thanks. I’ll get back to following the guidelines (distributed all over your Adobe website) to trying to straighten out a simple matter. I know they propagate, because my other license advised me of the availability of updates as soon as they were available, and installed them without a hitch. Thank you.

      1. Thanks Pete. Extremely helpful. Someone might also want to note that Markus’s link, above, is for the Windows setup patch… It’s an installer patch, OS specific, and there is a Mac version. However your link provides it. Be nice, as I said elsewhere, if Adobe found themselves capable of just a tad more transparency. These “installed patches” wouldn’t be necessary, except to compensate for bugs in their installation software.

        1. Don’t feel too bad, I just got my notification about the update….I know I am slow on the uptake but, I didn’t even know there was one for March, april or may until just now…………..AAATRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH and to think I pay for the latest and greatest each month?

    1. they also need to enhance the raw engine.

fuji x-trans support still sucks and the raw engine overall gets a bit long in the tooth,

      1. Markus, since you mentioned ‘Fuji’, I may have a question for you (or anyone else who reads this and knows a way out).

I have AdobeCC subscription (duly updated), yet I am not able to import RAF files (Fujifilm RAW file).

Can you help me out with this?

  2. Thank you! I appreciate all the work put into the additional profiles and bug fixes. The memory leak and erratic point curves were something that affected my workflow quite a lot, and it’s nice to have it working again.

  3. The bug is still there when you minimize Lightroom over some time and open it again that both side panels are completely black and you have to restart Lightroom to fix it. Come on Adobe are you really fixing some bugs?

  4. When are you going to merge the cloud-only features into the standalone product? Like… never?
AffinityPhoto is getting better and better, and its “Database” application is on its way. For those who find Capture One Pro too expensive, it will be the way to go unless you finally admit that not everybody wants subscription-based software!

    1. The standalone 6.x version will pick up all the new features of 2015.x when standalone version 7.0 is released.

      1. I seem to remember reading that LR6 is the last standalone version!

        Bob Frost

  5. I tried to update to Lightroom 6.9. Not successful. At start of the program I get a system message:
“The programm cannot be started because of missig api-ms-win-crt-runtime-|1-1-0.dll”.
Install the program new to fix the problem.
All update versions before worked fine on my windows 7 64bit workstation.

Do you have any idea to solve the problem?
Thank you in advance, best regards

    Gero

  6. Is there a reason the Samyang 12mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS Fisheye has not got lens profiles for the NIKON mount?
The Samyang 12mm 2.8 and Samyang 14mm 2.8 are not mentioned in the list.

  7. Will lightroom 5 also get the fuji x100f support? If yes, when will that happen? Thanks.

    1. Lightroom 5 will receive no further updates beyond 5.7.1.

You can use Adobe’s free DNG converter to convert your newer camera’s raw files into DNG files that your older software can read.

      1. Same problem. But with DNG file in 5.7.1. in the develop set, I can’t use the camera fuji profile set as it happens whit the RAF file in the new Lightroom release. I can use the fuji converter that it saves in TIFF or JPG and then open in 5.7.1. I don’t want to do this everytime, so what?
        (sorry for my bad english)

        1. The only solution that allows you to change the profile in Lightroom is to upgrade to 6.x or subscribe to CC2015.x. The DNG Converter will create an embedded profile with Fuji that cannot be changed.

  8. I had the upgrade open my default catalog instead of the one I actually use (stored on my external drive). Actual catalog did not show in File > Open > Recent.

Plus all my system preference customizations were reset to defaults.

I’m sure there are good things too, luckily I know how to find my working catalog, many people don’t believe it or not. Resetting my preferences was something I just should not have had to do.

Anyway – grateful for a still terrific program – thanks!

  9. I have gone to Capture One about four years ago only due to the really poor RAW processing of RAF files in LR. The UI in LR is vastly superior (more intuitive even after 4 years!) but I must echo that your developing of RAF files is still far too inferior for me to return. With all the competition getting it better I have to wonder what the hold up is… Heck, you could certainly partner with Iridient and/or license his approach as it is clearly the best one available to date.

My only other gripe is your catalog requirements: not being able to share or store it on a network drive 9let me decide how fast is fast enough) is ridiculous in this day and age, no one else has this constraint and no one else suffers from it…

I refuse to subscribe, but you give us the option (tip o’ the hat) with LR, so I have no idea why people still whine about it.

I am grateful you continue to improve your product and wait for the day I can return to my beloved UI when you have the same affection for my choice in cameras 🙂

  10. The Menu Item to sign out of your CC-Account in the help Menu ist still misspelled (this is since version 2015.8). In the german-language Version of LR it reads: $$$/amt/Menu/SignOut

  11. Too many fixes and not enough new features and innovation, imo. As a LR power user, I’m really looking forward to a complete software overhaul in 2017. The current LR, as useful as it is, is getting a bit long in the tooth, and as always STILL SLOW. Sigh.

    1. Agreed completely. I would love to see a major overhaul with major performance increases. Lightroom is getting painfully slow for me as my image files are getting larger and larger.

  12. why the hell havent you fixed exporting slideshows that have portrait and landscape photos in HD/!?!?!?

  13. And what do you do if you don’t want or can’t afford to suscribe to that CC shit? I’m happy to update the product once in a while to ensure it’s all working, but I cannot buy a new software every year, or pay a costly monthly suscription. I do photography as a hobby, I’m not paid for my work…

    1. buy capture one it offers better quality anyway.

only if you need the LR database functionality it makes sense to stick with LR.
otherwise there are enough alternatives now.

  14. Part of Lightroom default develop presets disappeared after this upgrade. Windows version

    1. Default develop presets are not normally removable.

      Have you restarted Lightroom?
      Restarted your computer?
      Reset your preference file?

      1. Yes I restarted ligtroom and computer. I am not sure how to reset preference file. I reset some in Edit-Preferences – and restore…

The preset that I currently have in Develop are:
        – Lightroom B&W Filter Presets
        – Lightroom B&W Presets
        – Lightroom B&W Toned Presets
        – Lightroom Effect Presets
        – Lightroom General Presets
        – Lightroom Video Presets
        and
        – Lightroom User Presets

Those missing were probably named: – Lightroom Color Presets (remember that there were Direct Positive, Old Polar, etc.. those presets are missing)

        1. The folder for the Color presets is gone, but the presets themselves have simply moved to the B&W Filter folder (probably because it is the one on top of the list). We are aware of the issue and working on a fix.

    1. So! Files FugiFilm X-T20 are downloaded, but the connection with Photoshop is gone. The PC writes about some problems in the installation process. I’m not a PC specialist. I’m a photographer.

  16. Im failing to understand why you are still on Lightroom CC 2015. When will there be a major upgrade to the software to CC 2017 like Photoshop has? Lightroom has become painfully slow for me and I’ve tried every optimization trick in the articles y’all have posted to very little benefit. I have a brand new PC I built for photo editing and Photoshop does wonders on it yet Lightroom performance is poor in my opinion. I don’t mind the monthly subscription but what I do mind is paying a monthly fee for a product that feels like its falling behind. Im sure I’m not alone when saying I expected more upgrades and improvements to Lightroom on a more consistent basis when you announced the move to the CC system.

    1. I assume they have been spending lots of time on the new Mobile LR stuff (that I don’t use!). Probably we will see LR CC 2018! 😉

  17. Lightroom CC 2015.9 updated failed – error message states no error file have Windows 10 – checked requirements [all good] have download not CC – first issue ever with Adobe updates any ideas as hard to get Adobe response [no telephone / email support] thanks

  18. I’m finding it rather strange on Windows 10, Adobe Creative Cloud doesn’t show any updates, I uninstalled LR and reinstalled and it’s now showing version [1014445]. I used to have 2015.8 and was trying to get 2015.9.

    Lightroom version: CC 2015 [1014445]

    1. Make certain you have the latest version of the Creative Cloud app installed. If you don’t see the update in your Creative Cloud App, you can use the kbsc [Cmd/Ctrl]+[Opt/Alt]+[ R ] to refresh your app.

      1. Hi Rikk, I have the latest version as downloaded and installed from the Adobe website. I’ve tried the refresh but nothing changes. Now I’m stuck and can’t even get 2015.8?

  19. Hey Adobe! Thanks for the update. How about auto profile for the FE Zeiss Batis 18mm? Mine does not work. Also, the newer DJI Phantom 4 Pro doesn’t have a profile yet. Is that planned? Thanks so much for everything.

  20. After being critical of LR recently, I do believe someone might have cured the slowdown in rendering previews that I have been complaining about for quite a while. Maybe it was that memory leak that has been cured in .9 ? More tests needed but I am hopeful 😉

    1. yes, the previews seem to render a little faster, but for me the biggest improvement is when i switch modules. now it takes much less time to switch from develop module to library(about 1-1.5 second instead of 4-8 seconds before). also export times seems to be faster than .8 version. also for me full screen preview(when you press f) seems to have gotten a lot better(it takes less time to switch from one photo to the next in the library module)

when you enter/leave full screen (shift+f) it still takes a long time(3-9 seconds),hoping this will get fixed in future versions, but finaly lr seems to be heading in the right direcion.

  21. Fujifilm In-camera ratings (stars) are still not being read. How’s that possible? Eytremely frustrating. It was a huge timesaver with Canon.

    1. When you receive this error, you should:

      1. Uninstall Lightroom from your computer via the Creative Cloud App.
      2. Restart
      3. Reinstall Lightroom on your computer via the Creative Cloud App.

  22. Is anyone else having problems with 3rd party plugins not working since the new update? I have the JPEGmini plugin installed (and plugin manager says it active and enabled). But after export, I get an error message saying that some operations were not able to be performed and all my exported files show JPEGmini failed to process and that it’s not activated. It was working fine just before I updated LR. Any info on this would be great, thanks!

  23. Lightroom On the PC can be updated to the current version. But on my notebook. Why not just the cc2015 version and not updated?

  24. Hello, I have Lightroom CC 2105.9 for MAC and I am not being able to upload CR2 format from Canon 5D Mark IV.

    Any help?

    Thank you,

  25. After 4 days still no updates in the CC app. Tried the ctrl-alt-R but nothing changed.
The UPDATE funcion in Lightroom is greyed out and cant be clicked
Photography Plan here, am I missing something?

    1. Nick,

      1. Make sure you CC app is up-to-date. Version 3.9.5.353 is the current version.
      2. Sign out of your Creative Cloud App.
      3. Restart your computer.
      4. Sign in to your Creative Cloud App using your Photography Plan Adobe ID.
      5. Allow 10 minutes after signing in and if the update for Lightroom doesn’t appear, repeat the [Ctrl]+[Alt] + [ R ]

      1. Tried that several times but nothing happens. I’m on CC 3.9.5.353 but still LR 2015.8. 🙁

  26. Now the 13th March and no sign of the 2015.9 update in my CC control panel. Despite Apple’s best efforts in recent years at dereliction of customers, I’d say that Adobe still noses ahead in the corporate idiocy stakes.

  27. Is LR on feature freeze and/or were resources moved from the “Desktop” to the “Mobile team”?

Sure there is a long backlog of bugs to fix, but as far as I remember one of the exciting new prospects of the CC rolling release was that Adobe doesn’t need to save features for the next point release, but customers can enjoy them with the regular updates.

At least give us some improvements any half-decent coder could finish in a day’s work like batch-processing hdr and pano jobs. It’s not likely you’re going to rock the boat too much and introduce new bugs with some feature extensions…

… not to mention the core raw engine which hasn’t evolved much apart from the “Dehaze” and “Upright” goodies. For example still struggling with saturated color edged (like blue sky with branches in front) after pulling down highlights, something long addressed by the competition. Please, do wake up, will you?

  28. After updating my lightroom to 2015.9 version I am unable to import my Nikon D7200 raw files. I m a creative cloud member and paying you people every month but still I am not able to import my pictures.. kindly tell me the solution for that.

  29. I just got a Canon 5D Mark IV Camera and have Lightroom and Photoshop and have been paying for them every month $9.99. I have updated everything but my lightroom and photoshop wont recognize the RAW file from 5D Mark IV. I am very frustrated and angry cause there are no phone numbers or support to contact and get help. My work is on hold and my clients are harassing me. PLEASE HELP!

  30. I tried to update to Lightroom 6.9. At start of the program I get a system message:
“The program cannot be started because of missing api-ms-win-crt-runtime-|1-1-0.dll”.
Install the program new to fix the problem.
All update versions before worked fine on my windows 7 64bit workstation.

I have tried everything in my power to follow all directions on the computer but it seems i have a firewall isuue or something. Please help! i have 4 sessions to edit and it was working fine before the update. if I uninstall and reinstall will i lose all of my stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  31. Hi
After installing 2015.9 I cannot import photos. I go to add folder select the folder and lightroom just hangs
This happened with an earlier version but was fixed why has it reoccurred ?

  32. You still didn’t fix speed or the fact that auto import setting window DOES NOT display unless I export to new catalog then only seems to work once first time I sort up.

Come on get it together fix the problems with this version and hold off on the multiple updates to Mobile

  33. OH MY GOD auto import settings will bitterly only open once for a new catalog so every time I need to change the settings I have to export as a new catalog PLEASE GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER.

  34. Will I be able to install perpetual license LR 6.9 directly from LR 6.6.1?
No interim steps from 6.6 to 6.7 to 6.8 to 6.9?
I’m downloading LR 6.9 right now and hope to install from that download onto two Macs, one only briefly connected to the internet with a hotspot when ready to verify.

  35. My Flickr plug stopped working g after the update. It will not authorize with flickr anymore. Has this plug in functionality been removed in the update?.

  36. This release is so buggy that I have been forced to re-install 2015.7 after a few days – detailed post in forums.
    Best avoided IMO

  37. The update from 6.8 to 6.9 appears to be corrupting some files.
After successfully updating to 6.9, restarting my laptop and then double-clicking the LR-icon I receive the message that the following files are missing:
    – amtlib.dll
    – AgKernel.dll (this message appears even three times)
I reinstalled 6.0 as recommended, checked that 6.0 is starting up correctly and then updated again to 6.9.
    Same error message.
    Any suggestions?

      1. Thanks Rikk,

unfortunately the two dlls were completely missing. So there was no chance to register them as recommended in your link.
However, I managed to solve the issue by uninstalling everything and reinstalling LR6.0 in a different folder of the file system. After doing so I could update to 6.9 without any issues.
After deinstalling LR the old directory was still jammed with “conflict”-files. I deleted all these files manually.

  38. This app just gets worse and worse. The latest update has brought even slower performance and constant crashes. An added new delight is a 30 second delay between pressing the delete key and the confirmation box appearing. I also do like the permanent highlight clipping on develop previews – not being able to see the images you are working on because of these wonderful psychedelic effects, with the only solution being a restart, is a really helping my workflow.

    1. i can only agree. LR is in desperate need of a core rewrite.
adobe is just trying to fix things that are unfixable.

  39. how long will adobe drag their feets?
this stuff is, in it´s core, 6+ years old.

time to get v7 with a core rewrite and better raw engine.

  40. I bought the Mark iv in January. I had and have been shooting with my iii pretty much the whole time since because I didn’t want to have to convert files to dang nor use ACR because I’m familiar with LR, have many presets in there, and I know it.

What the heck do I need to do to get the new version of LR on a Mac? Everyone above is complaining it sucks and screws up their computers. What’s the deal? I pay monthly for the subscription, and I don’t know why things are released when they don’t work. I don’t want to download the wrong thing, mess up my current work flow, or lose anything. Please advise!! IF there’s an exact link I can click and everything just magically work, please include it. Thanks.

    1. Go to Help>System Info… and check the Lightroom version you have installed. The current version is CC2015.9. If you don’t have that version installed, open your Creative Cloud application and see if it shows an update. If it doesn’t, [Cmd]+[Opt]+[R] will refresh your app. The Canon 5D Mark IV has been supported since CC2015.7.

      1. Thanks so much, Rikk. So many people have posted different things here and there, and I have been scared to make the leap. I appreciate your help and the speed of your response. Keep you posted. Have a great day!

  41. I recently bought the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera. Its raw files require Lightroom CC 2015.9. My current version is: Lightroom CC 2015 [1014445]. This does not seem to be version 2015.9 because it does NOT recognize Olympus’ raw files. But there’s no way to get this update (Mac, running Sierra 10.12.4). The CC panel shows no update, cannot be forced to show it.

Have been fiddling around for several hours now, trying all of Adobe’s solutions, or better proposals: close the CC panel with Cmd+Opt+R, refresh the CC app, sign out/sign in, uninstall LR via CC panel and re-install it again, remove OPM.db file. Still no success. Why on earth is no automatic update possible?

I urgently need the update to import my Olympus raw files! Would be very nice to get real support.

  42. Well like a few other people here, I did not purchase the subscription Creative Cloud — I purchased the Lightroom 6 upgrade instead. Prior to purchase I asked several times, will the product be supported and will it continue to be updated and was told “Yes” and with that, I paid for the upgrade.A few days ago, I purchased the new Olympus OM-D EM1 Mark II camera — I previously owned the OM-D EM1 and and my earlier version of LR had no problems handling the files — now of course it’s telling me that I need to update. But of course it won’t update because:
“This is probably a result of one of the following.
    • Your internet connection is not currently available.
    • The server containing the version data is not available at this time.
Check your internet connection and/or try again later.
I purchased the the LR6 update on 3/27/2017 –it’s now 4/9/2017 — what gives Adobe? No one, and I mean no one said anything at the time of the purchase of having to download a “DNG converter” just so I can use the product. Please solve the problem.

  43. Thank you, Rick, for answering.
But the manual update steps are only for a serial number based LR installation whereas I have a CC subscription and thus no serial number. So – what to do? Besides, your first link is not helpful. It’s just a document too common, dating from 2013. Please give me a direkt link to download the latest LR version 2015.9.

I’m still wondering why a Lightroom installation via CC panel does NOT give me the latest version but an older one??? At least my installed version CC 2015 [1014445] is not the current one. I tried it several times today: uninstalling LR, re-installing. No way. No latest version.

It’s so sad that there is no solution. Instead, I shall turn to the forum. Great idea, folks. There is just the same problem with non-working auto update but NO SOLUTION EITHER. Thank you Adobe.

  44. By the way: this version Lightroom CC 2015 [1014445], installed by the CC panel as so-called “latest” version does not even have the dehaze function which means it is a real old version.

  45. I have just purchased the Nikon D500.
If I subscribe to Lightroom cc will it be able to open the Nikon NEF Raw files?
What will the latest versions of Lightroom CC and Camera Raw be if I subscribe today on Adobe’s subscription plan $9,99?

    1. Camera Raw is currently 9.10.
      Lightroom is currently CC2015.10.

A Photographer’s Plan subscription entitles you to the latest version of each.

  46. I am struggling. I just uninstalled lightroom and did a fresh install. It still won’t read the files from my omd em1 mkII. I updated raw. HELP!! this is what my lightroom system info says: Lightroom version: CC 2015 [1014445]
Creative Cloud says everything is up to date. Can someone please post step by step instructions on a mac for getting this damn software to read these files. I feel like an idiot because of this software. I am completely lost with this.

  47. What is going on with the choice box for selecting copy with LR adjustment, copy, or edit original RAW file when you take a photo from LR to PS? I don’t see it happening in this version and the things I do in PS, I need to be able to see the LR edits also. An oversight or is Adobe deciding how we will edit or own photos?

    1. It is working normally and there aren’t any reports of it failing.

Remember you only see this dialog with Tiff and PSD – not the raw file. If it is a raw, it will open in Photoshop with the edits intact like it always has.

      1. Why didn’t any update show up for my adobe cc until now? I didn’t get one in march, april or may until today? My payment comes out of my account on a monthly basis automatically so it gets paid each and every month but, I did not receive any news nor offer pertaining to new updates until today and I check on a weekly basis if not daily when I have time….??????

  48. No, neither the latest version of Lightroom nor Camera Raw support the Fuji X100F yet. For Windows, maybe. Not for Mac running Sierra. Either that or my subscription is not updating as it’s supposed to do.
