1. I have LR CC (2015.5.1) installed on my 2 computers. I sync the main computer with LR Mobile. Will the applications ever be changed to allow photos stored on a 2nd computer to also be synced with LR Mobile? Will the applications ever be changed to allow “Smart Collections” to be synced with LR Mobile?

   1. Agreed, I’ve been waiting for the option to sync smart collection for some time now.

   1. The Nikon D5 raw files were supported beginning with LR 6.5/CC2015.5 and ACR 9.5.

9. Just wanted to note, that this version of Lightroom doesn’t seem to support GPU acceleration on the new 2016 12-inch MacBook (HD 515). Just shows “disabled due to errors”. Looking forward to a fix.

    the raw engine look sa bit long in the tooth compared to the competition.
    sharpening and noise reduction are sub par when you compare it with other RAW software.

    1. I find LR’s sharpening and nr to be pretty good, the problem is that you need to carefully manually customize it for each image and use the brush with +/- nr or sharpness if required. I’d certainly like more “intelligence” telling foreground from background like PS’ smart sharpen and an auto-mode that analyzes the images and sets the sliders to an optimal position. DxO’s PRIME might be fine on some images, but really – what good is a nr that takes half an hour to complete (well, on my laptop that is)…

11. Why an I not seeing “Boundry Warp” in LR 6.5.1

    1. Boundary Warp is a Creative Cloud version feature. It is not available to Perpetual License holders. Which type of license do you hold?

12. Please ….

    Allow me maintain certain metadata and synch meta data fields on an iPad. The Ipad is the ideal travel tool to update this info while waiting for planes and trains. This would radically increase my usage of both Lr Mobile and Lr Desktop.

    Fields of interest. Title, Caption, Location, Copyright.

13. Deleting a image from a collection only removes from that collection.
    I dont get the option to delete from hardrive as well anymore.

    Any ideas?

    1. You can remove from a Collection, Right-Click ([CTRL]+[Click] – Remove Photo) or Photo menu or
       Remove from a Catalog via the Photo menu or
       Remove and delete from disk via the [CTRL][Alt][Shift][Backspace]/[CMD][Opt][Shift][Del]

       I checked Lightroom 5.7.1 and 6.5.1 and don’t see that there was ever an option to delete from hard drive directly from a collection.

    2. That’s a welcome safety measure, you can only physically delete images from the main/hardcoded collections on top (like Imported or All), but not from custom collections. I for one would like an option to even prevent that for 100% safety, on Win you cannot customize the shortcuts and could delete all your images if your head drops on the keyboard after a long working day :-p

14. I had moved my Lr folder to a new ssd, however the Creative Cloud updated Lr 6.5.1 to the old location. I cut and paste it to the new location, Its works, but I can’t open Lr from creative cloud anymore. Should I uninstall Creative Cloud and Reinstall it?

    1. Lightroom should be uninstalled and reinstalled to correct this. Make sure you install it to the location you want. You can specify the location in the Creative Cloud App’s Preferences – Creative Cloud tab.

15. I have stand alone LR6 and I have been trying all day to get the 6.5.1 update. When I click “Help and Updates” nothing happens. What is wrong?…besides the fact that I have many hours of editing ahead of me STILL.

    1. Have you tried rebooting your computer? That will help an errant update come through at times. If you still can’t get it working, you can download the update here: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/06/keeping-lightroom-up-to-date.html

16. I just upgraded, and now the [ and ] keys are shortcuts for changing the ratings of photos, when they should be to increase and decrease the size of adjustment brushes. Does anyone else have this problem? I’m not sure how to put it back the way it was.

    1. I’m an idiot… was using radial filter instead of spot removal and adjustment brush.

    2. If the Adjustment Brush is selected, the shortcut keys [ and ] adjust brush size. If you are not in the Adjustment brush they should adjust Star Rating. You need to put away your Adjustment brush to use the shortcuts.

17. I’m constantly running into issues where LR 6 will just stop editing. I will make some edits in develop mode, then attempt to use the healing brush or some other tool and it lets me use the tool but the actual adjustment doesn’t get applied. It’s like I didn’t use the tool. I have to exit the program then open again and it will let me then edit. Gets rather tiring.

18. Since the update mobile sync on the desktop (MacBook Pro Retina, OS X El Capitan) was incredibly slow and now seems to be stuck with 82 photos left to sync. Been stuck there for 3 days. Deleted the .lrdata file, signed out, etc but won’t budge. Any suggestions?

19. Will this resolve some of the slow develop module issues on the 5k retina iMac? Do you advise to uncheck “use graphics processor” for faster workflow in general? (still running Yosemite OS until all the bugs are sorted out)

20. Hi,

    I just moved from an old Win10 machine to a top of the line iMac 5k retina (4 GHz i7, 32 GB RAM, 4 GB graphics). I’m blown away with how slow LR runs on the Mac system vs Win10. The Mac has plenty of more power, but everything takes forever compared to the Win10 machine. Importing is probably 4-5 times slower.

    Why is this?

21. The image flicker on my MacBook Pro is really annoying!!! Using the workaround but hope that Adobe fix this really soon!

22. I’m going to use this as a space to leave a suggestion. Hoping that’s kosher.

    For a future update, please, 2 things:

    1) Ability to render a smaller DNG or JPEG (like, 50% the size of the original file) to be stored at a secondary or tertiary location during import. Furthermore, a CREATIVE CLOUD STORAGE option would be a VERY useful addition to the suite. I would GLADLY PAY an additional subscription fee for 1 TB of cloud drive space to backup my photos during import, managed by Adobe or a trusted partner. Subscribing to 3rd party storage options outside of the CC suite seems like an extra step that Adobe could resolve, and ultimately profit from.

    2) More compositional overlays. There’s so many more than the golden ratio and rule of thirds. Can we include at least 6 more?

23. Hi there,

    Downloaded and installed, but on my PC it’s running very slowly. 2-3 sec berfore responding in GUI, and with a lot of “bezel” and “shadow” not-responding messsages in taskmanager. Have tried to turn off “Show message when loading or rendering photos” also on/off “Use graphics processor” but with no difference. Latest driver on graphics card installed.

    1. Some steps to take:

       Make certain your Graphics Driver is the latest – from the manufacturer’s website – not Windows Update.
       Remove your preference file by closing Lightroom, holding down [Alt]+[Shift] and relaunching Lightroom.
       If it is still slow after that, update all mouse and tablet drivers.
       If it is still slow after that, uninstall and reinstall Lightroom from a fresh download.

       Let us know if your performance improves or not please.

24. I just updated to LR CC 2015.5.1. NEW (old & were corrected now back) Bugs: 1) Some files show ‘Metadata not saved to file’. I (PC) Ctl+S and in a flicker it is saved then bounces right back to that UNsaved icon – 3 lines with downward arrow. 2) Clone/Heal brush – I can make the edits I want but, unlike before, the masked areas (old and new) will not go away so I can see if the edit I made is what I want. I used to just move my courser off to the right or left panel area and just the point would stay but I could see the changes clearly. Also, I used to be able to make all these clone/head changes and hit ‘Done’ once. NOW, I have to hit ‘Done’ each time just to see if I need to move the control point a bit, then start again with next clone/heal edit. Supreme waste of time! 3) When making adjustments, sometimes the control point moves with my cursor right across the image even though I have lifted my pen/mouse and am finished with adjustment. Lastly 4) – 2 very important Plug-Ins did not ‘carry over’ and link themselves automatically with the new Update. All of these are very annoying, especially #1 & #4. Old, previously fixed bugs are back!!!!!! and maddening as all get out! (being polite here…)

       CC2015.6 is the current version and was released last week. If you go to Help>System Info… and verify your Lightroom version number is actually, CC2015.5.1, you may want to update and see if you are still having these issues.

       I would also recommend updating your Mouse/Tablet drivers to the latest versions to see if it helps with your cursor issue.

25. Installed – and Bug! Will it ever get better!?
    After updating to the latest release it is not possible any more to export a pic to Email.
    Something I do every day. Export to file is not effected.
    I am so sick of having bugs after updating in Lightroom. I happens nearly after EVERY update!

       I would be happy to attempt to reproduce your issue. What OS version are you using? Which is your mail client?

       In addition, you are posting on the 2015.5.1 thread and 2015.6 has been released. Verify your version of Lightroom by going to Help>System Info… and getting your current installed version number.

27. NO SYNC BETWEEN IPAD AND IMAC
    SYNC from ipad loghtroom app to LIGHTROOM CC on new IMAC retina 27 in stop and get freeze after 5 pictures.
    sync work between ipad/iphone but NOT with IMAC on al capitain.
    The solution to delete a whatever file is not usable in France as we can’t find this file….( not the same name)

28. Ugh, Lightroom frustrates again. Just when I finally had a version that worked well enough, this latest update has completely slowed down everything, to the point, it’s unusable at times. It’s even slowing down my computer as a whole. I’ve dealt with Lightroom for many years and have everything optimized as suggested, I even uninstalled and reinstalled this new version, but in the midst of my busy season, I’m starting to seek out what other program I could use so I don’t have to spend 3X as much time on each edit. Adobe— please help! Adding features that greatly slow down editing workflow is not helpful!

30. I am having the same issues as Michelle since the latest update of Lightroom cc. It has become almost impossible to use. So so slow to export and email option does not work. Today even moving photos from one folder to another …seems to have stopped. What is going on?
